- Marise Vickers, Notting Hill Interiors
My Business Notting Hill Interiors experienced two incidents; a truck drove through the front of my shop in April 2018 and three years later in October 2021, while still waiting for a settlement, the building burnt down.
Able Business Claims called me in October 2021 when they saw the news reports about the fire. I employed them to resolve both the 2018 claim and the 2021 claim.
I could not have reached settlement without Able Business Claims. They broke the BI claims into manageable parts and provided ongoing support in the face of a loss adjuster who seemed determined to avoid making any recommendation to settle this claim. They also dealt with a stock claim that was complex because of a high degree of imported content. Finally, they gained settlement on a plant claim that had got stuck. They never gave up and all claims have now been settled fairly.
I learnt that the cover included in your insurance schedule for a professional claim’s handler is invaluable. You definitely need someone on your side to fight the loss adjusters and the Insurance companies, or you will not get a fair settlement.
I recommend all business owners review their insurance schedules to make sure there is plenty of cover for Claims Preparation. Check with your broker to make sure you have cover for Claims Preparation that applies to your material damage as well as your business interruption claim.
If anything happens to your business, you will need this cover to pay for your own independent claim’s preparer. You cannot rely on the insurance company appointed loss adjuster to do a fair job. No matter what they say, they work for the insurer, not for you.
Able Business Claims pushed my claims through to a fair settlement. I am very grateful to the Able Business Team, and I highly recommend them to every other small business owner.
I tell every business owner I meet about the care, skill and dedication of the Able Business Team.”
